Email and Remind Services

Email Services

As the Ward Communications/Email Specialist I can send out emails on behalf of ward leaders.  The Email Specialist part of my calling Is what gives me the ability to use the church's "Send a Message" service.  This service automatically provides "groups" or "distribution lists" from membership records.  I only see the names of the members, not their email addresses.

The following screenshots show the groups that I can send email to on your behalf.  I can select more than one group at a time. If you want me to send an email on your behalf, I ask that you tell me which groups you want the email sent to, compose the "Subject Line" and the "body" just the way you want them and then I will simply select your requested groups and copy and paste your subject and body Into the appropriate fields on the "Send a Message" service page. Please remember to conclude your email message with who It Is from. For example, Gayton Ward Bishopric.

Please send your request to me via email to my ward website email address: Gaytonwebsite@gmail.com. If you have an attachment, please attach It to your request email.

Note: The email will be delivered addressed to each person Individually and will say that I am the sender.

Brother William (Bill) C. Haynes

Ward Communications Specialist

Remind Text Messaging (SMS) Services

The "Remind" text messaging service Is an opt-In service Introduced Into the ward by the Bishopric some time ago.  It Is discussed on our "Announcements and Notifications" page.  Here Is what It says on that page:

"Brothers and Sisters,

We would like to utilize a text message (SMS) alert tool in order to more effectively inform our ward family about general announcements and emergency alerts.

We encourage all members (age 13 and up) to opt-in to the service so you can receive text messages when we send out an announcement. To opt-in, please text "@wardalerts" to 81010.

The service is called Remind. Remind was created for school districts but is free and open for non-profit use. After you send your initial text to opt-in, it will ask for your name and whether you're a student, parent, or teacher. Please select student. It will suggest that you download the app but this is not necessary. We will continue to send announcements via email as well.

Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback.

Best,

Gayton Ward Bishopric"

Each text can contain only 140 characters.  This Includes spaces.  Please try to keep you messages within this limit.  If you cannot, I can send more than one text to get the entire message out.  I will end the first message with a trailing three dots, "...", and start the next message with a leading three dots, "...".

Please send your request to me via email to my ward website email address: Gaytonwebsite@gmail.com
